National Industrial Corridor Development Programme is India's most ambitious infrastructure programme aiming to develop new industrial cities as 'Smart Cities' and converging next generation technologies across infrastructure sectors.
Government of India is developing various industrial corridor projects as part of the National Industrial Corridor Programme which is aimed at development of futuristic industrial cities in India which can compete with the best manufacturing and investment destinations in the world. The same will create employment opportunities and economic growth leading to overall socio-economic development.
Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor
Government of India is developing the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC),
first industrial corridor on the backbone of Western Dedicated Freight Corridor
(DFC) between Delhi and Mumbai covering an overall length of 1504 km and passing
through the states of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi NCR, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and
Maharashtra, with end terminals at Dadri in the Delhi NCR and Jawaharlal Nehru
Port (JNPT) near Mumbai.
Amritsar Kolkata Industrial Corridor
The Government of India is developing Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor (AKIC)
along the alignment of the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC) traversing
a route length of 1839 km in six states. The objective of AKIC is to optimize
the present economic and employment potential of the region, stimulate
investments particularly in manufacturing, agro-processing, services and
export-oriented units and promote overall economic development of the area
through creation of high standard infrastructure and an enabling business
environment.
Chennai Bengaluru Industrial Corridor
Chennai Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (CBIC) is planned to achieve accelerated
development and regional industry agglomeration in the states of Tamil Nadu,
Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
Chennai Bengaluru Industrial Corridor proposes to address the infrastructure
bottlenecks through a holistic approach while benefiting from the inherent
strengths and competitiveness of each state. Accordingly, high impact/ market
driven nodes are proposed to be developed at strategic locations within the
corridor, to provide transparent and investment friendly facility.
Vizag Chennai Industrial Corridor
ECIC will be the nation’s first coastal corridor. It stands out in comparison
with other proposed national corridors as it hosts several ports along the east
coast that serve not only as international gateways but more importantly as
critical links in supply chain. In the latter role, ports are a source of value
creation for firms that provide services – ranging from logistics to packaging –
to production clusters and distribution centers, and play a significant role in
economic development. Vizag Chennai Industrial Corridor (VCIC) has been
identified as first phase of ECIC.
Hyderabad Nagpur Industrial Corridor
Government of Telangana proposed to develop Hyderabad Nagpur Industrial Corridor
(HNIC) in Telangana State, which is well-positioned in the national network of
industrial corridors and strategically located in the influence area of
North-South Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC).
Hyderabad Warangal Industrial Corridor
The 235 km Hyderabad Warangal Industrial Corridor (HWIC) extends along the NH 163
between Hyderabad and Warangal, the two most important economic hubs of the
state of Telangana. HWIC proposed to address the infrastructure bottlenecks
through a holistic approach while benefiting from the inherent strength of the
region in the state. Accordingly, high impact/ market driven nodes (11 Nos.) are
proposed to be developed at strategic locations within the corridor to provide
transparent and investment friendly regimes.
Hyderabad Bengaluru Industrial Corridor
The proposed Mega Industrial Hub at Orvakal village at Kurnool district
admeasures an area of approximately 4742 acres spread across 3 distinct land
parcels located off NH 40, which connects Hyderabad to Chennai via Kurnool,
Nandyal, Kadapa and Tirupati
Odisha Economic Corridor
Odisha Economic Corridor is part of the northernmost stretch of the East Coast
Industrial Corridor (ECIC). OEC has been envisaged in the state of Odisha, which
links up with the Vishakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor (VCIC).The Concept
Development Plan (CDP) of OEC as part of ECIC has been prepared by Asian
Development Bank (ADB).
Bengaluru Mumbai Industrial Corridor
The Government of India intends to develop the Bengaluru Mumbai Industrial
Corridor between Bengaluru and Mumbai, which would have an influence area spread
across the states of Karnataka and Maharashtra.
The Bengaluru Mumbai Industrial Corridor is intended to facilitate development
of a well-planned and resource-efficient industrial base served by world-class
sustainable connectivity infrastructure, bringing significant benefits in terms
of innovation, manufacturing, job creation and resource security to these
states.
Extension of CBIC to Kochi via Coimbatore
The extension of the Chennai Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (CBIC) to Kochi via
Coimbatore was approved with Dharmapuri Salem in Tamil Nadu admeasuring approx.
1,773 acres and Palakkad Industrial Area in Kerala admeasuring approx. 1,710
acres as the priority nodes for development.
Delhi Nagpur Industrial Corridor

(DNIC) Project proposed with National Highways (being developed under the North
South Corridor of National Highways Development Project) as a backbone and in
close vicinity to the North-South DFC future Corridor, utilizing the existing
Highway and Dedicated Freight Corridor along this route.
